Notes and information following on from the 2026 AGM

NSOLA social events?

First, before we lose your attention, discussion at the AGM showed a lot of interest in arranging other social events for NSOLA members. Please take a look at these possibilities:

  1. A communal canoe trip around the lake, or through the Rothwell-Holleford Lake corridor. (We might request the assistance of a naturalist to aid spotting wildlife.)
  2. A communal family picnic at the Park picnic area.
  3. A corn-boil and potluck at the Park picnic area (Ontario corn becomes available in late August).
  4. A hike in Frontenac Park – Doe Lake Trail is generally suitable.
  5. A winter cross-country ski or snowshoe hike around the lake.
  6. An introductory forest bathing session (offered by Claire Beach)

It is possible that some of these options could be conducted jointly with The Friends of Frontenac Park.

NSOLA merch

Marie has been busy looking into branded merchandise with our new NSOLA logo. We are in the final stages of selecting colours and styles.
